Yet another Armored Core model.

I vent full metal on him, several layers of different metallik paints, no post-effects, no panel lining - no anything. Just a LOT of shiny goodness :)

It was an experiment but i've satisfied with the results so far.

Ah here we go, this is the model I'm starting with. It'll be a lot of money and time later, but I plan on swapping head, arm and weapon parts from other kits to get as close to my actual Nexus AC as I can.

Well, after priming the whole thing with grey primer i've sprayed absolutely every part with "bare metal silver", then from a pretty far distance - with light gunmetal. It gave the model pretty realistic but very unfinished look. Then i did all the parts i wanted to be darker with regular gunmetal - again from afar, because other way it looked too dark.

As with the blue - i've tried to mix the paint myself but in the end i've just went to the local car parts store and got a smallest blue metallic acryl spray bottle i could. Again i've sprayed from some distance - wasted whole bottle but at least i was able to control how much paint i want getting to the model.

And thanks for the comment! :)

Almost forgot - half of the paintjob was done with the airbrush and other half straight from the spray paint can.

That looks great. Exactly how did you get that metallic blue? I have trouble pulling off any kind of colored metallics, but these look great. Even your gun metal looks really smooth. Was it brush on? Or airbrush?
